If you polish your trucks chrome, it’s gonna want a wash.

If you give your truck a wash, it’ll want a wax.

If you give your truck a wax, it’ll want a detail.

If you give your truck a detail, it’ll want to have a picture.

If you give your truck a picture, it’ll want to go on Facebook marketplace

If your truck goes on Facebook marketplace , it’ll get sold.

Then you have no fucking truck! Why the hell would you polish your trucks chrome?!?

Ha ha ha comment of the day right here.

But as you can see by the mountain o f power steering fluid under it, a wash isn't   the highest on the list. But I don’t see my dad parting ways with this anytime soon, wash or not. If it were mine, it would have been cleaned by now.

Not my truck. . .

. . . and yes t here is a substantial power steering fluid leak that should have been fixed by now.

Lol. I’m like that with car cleaning.

Clean the car, the plastics look down and dull,

Clean the car, dress the plastics, the tyres look down and dull,

Clean the car, dress the plastics, dress the tyres, the wheel arches look down and dull.

You know I like to hop into random people’s backyards and mess with their stuff to make Oppo content. Next post: Rumm aging around in my neighbor’s tool shed.

No wait, it’s just my dad’s truck.

My Tundra has a significant amount of Arizona rust and desert pin striping , but the chrome is shiny.

ha - my dad has the same truck, same color even...  had the ball joint recall problems but otherwise it’s been bulletproof

I wish I had that level of deviousness. One day you notice all your screwdrivers are arranged in patterns on your table. The next, the lawnmower is blocking your back door. But always the masked Tweeker will elude capture! Bwahahaha!

I’m temporarily out of A rmorall, but usually the inner wheel arches are ignored for the sake of my sanity because I park on bare dirt and it gets muddy within a day of its wash. Except the one arch missing its liner; that one gets a clean.

But good show old sport, for excellent attention to detail!

This one had a radiator malfunction, but never broken down outside a few batteries. Almost at 300k miles now. Out of the many people I’ve known with a Tundra/Sequoia of this gen, one   has been sold and is probably still on the road somewhere . Absolutely bulletproof, as you said!

Which is why the brightwork is so important to keep clean. I like your truck a lot, but I can understand how hard the sun can be on aged clearcoat. Just look at how the upper painted bumper trim has fared where it sticks out of the carport.

Lol. I’m that sad, I dress them even when the car is going to be driven by it’s owner in five minutes.

I’m getting some Bilt Hamber Atom Mac to stop the brake discs rusting. Yep, sad to a whole new level. Lol.

The solution to that is some spirited driving, not chemical products! Also, can it possibly stay functional after being driven?

I have been wanting to give my dad’s truck a good Svending, and I may just be given the chance soon. I think the last wax job I did should hold. I am just as sad* inside but that cursed mud foils me through my own logic every time.

*meaning conscientious about cleanliness

Toyotas have shitty paint as well. My ‘92 Loyale spent its whole life in AZ and looked a hell of a lot better than my ‘01  Tundra.

Not quite Honda levels but maybe it was post-Bubble Era cost cutting . That green paint is actually purple once the clearcoat literally falls off in sheets from UV damage, which is interesting. Based on an Uncle’s truck that spent much more time outside.

Atom Mac. Is a migratory and contact corrosive inhibitor in that it stops or heavily reduces the built up of rusty brake discs and bonds with the metal, it has no effect on the braking behaviour of the brakes

https://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=415970

Conclusion

If you are like me and hate those oxidized brake discs ruining the look of your car post wash and also hate how quickly your freshly detailed alloys get covered in brake dust, this is for you. It’s a completely new product to the market and the only one of it’s kind available as well as far as I am aware. For me this should be in every detailers arsenal as it’s a must have for me.

It’s well priced, highly economical and can also replace more harsh wheel cleaners for maintenance washes. Once again Bilt Hamber have brought something revolutionary to the market and hopefully continue to do so.

https://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?103190-Alloy-Wheel-Contamination-Removal

Talking of Bilt Hamber, suggest you try Bilt Hamber Atom Mac.

Its a small bottle that you dilute around 5% in water and spray on the car wheels, underside etc.

https://www.bilthamber.com/atom-mac-148

It dissolves any salt build up during the winter and adds a protective layer to metalwork etc

I’ve got some - I can now wash the car and park it straight away in the garage and the brake discs don’t ‘rust-on’ as you’d expect them too.

I can leave it a few days and reverse straight out the garage.

That’s why I opted for the visual protective layer of steel wheels and hubcaps with stealthy drum brakes in the rear :P

Sounds like a great product though, especially if you deal with road salt. Svending x2 multiplier!

Lol. Genius.

Bilt Hamber do some amazing products.

I’m jealous of you getting your truck and your father’s vehicle done.

The weather is crap here, you can’t plan anyone in advance car cleaning wise.

I’ve taken a few walks and got hot in my jacket. Everyone’ s driving their classics too, before they die of COVID-19, making great carspotting .

Though my dad’s truck is quite filthy, the paint always cleans up well. If it happens, I’ll document it on Oppo. And my Cruze is already muddy again, sigh.
